According to the US National Retail Federation’s annual survey, it is estimated that US consumers will spend an average of $1,007 during the holiday season on gifts, decorations and more. For many Americans and those of us in other countries, Black Friday marks the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season.

Black Friday has firmly marked itself into the UK calendar with a whopping £1.4bn spent on online sales in the UK on Black Friday 2017 – up some 11.7% on the previous year, according to online retailers trade body IMRG. In the “Clicks versus Bricks” debate, it looks like the “clicks” win with many consumers checking prices online at multiple retailers in order to get the best prices.
