Although Christmas and other traditional end of year celebrations may still seem like a long way off, retailers are already in full flow when it comes to present shopping, with Black Friday being the biggest shopping day of the year!
Whilst relatively new to the UK, November’s Black Friday (24th) and Cyber Monday (27th) have already become two of the biggest fixtures in the British shopping calendar and are a perfect opportunity to get some fantastic discounts on this year’s “must have” items.
What is Black Friday?
In America, It is the day after Thanksgiving, and it’s one of the major ‘bricks and mortar’ shopping days of the year. While it’s not recognised as an official US holiday, many employees have the day off – except those working in retail of course.
In the UK, It began with Amazon UK, who started offering special deals for the day back in 2010 and other shops followed suit every year thereafter. It is now seen as a ‘pre-Christmas’ discounted shopping event that covers a vast array of products and companies, both online and in-store.
What is Cyber Monday?
It is a web-only version of Black Friday, where the best deals are online only.
Neither of these look set to replace Boxing Day (Dec 26th) in the UK, which is still when British shops traditionally start their New Year’s Sales.
To mark this November, Comark is offering Black Friday and Cyber Monday style deals all month long. Come visit us before the end of the month and take advantage of some spectacular savings!
